Monitoring
visit for The Erasmus + Project METHODS at The University of Jordan
The
National Erasmus+ office (NEO) in Jordan conducted a monitoring visit on
November 13, 2017, for the Erasmus+ project "METHODS: Modernization of
Teaching Methodologies in Higher Education: Eu Experience For Jordan And
Palestinian Territory" at the School of Engineering-The University of
Jordan (UJ).
The
event was attended by METHODS' team members at the University of Jordan,
including faculty members from different faculties, and the administrative and
technical staff. In addition to representatives from the project partners in
Jordan including Jordan University of Science and Technology, Hashemite
University, and Al-Zaytoonah University.
The
event also gathered the local coordinator of METHODS in Palestine and the
leader for Implementation work package; Dr. Wasel Ghanem from Birzeit
University; the leader for Quality work package, Mr. Karl Royle from University
of Wolverhampton in United Kingdom, and the project external evaluator, Dr.
Jill Turbin from UK.
The
Monitoring visit was started by a presentation about status and progress of
METHODS project and management procedures, delivered by the General project
coordinator, Prof. Ahmed Al-Salaymeh, followed by presentations about the
courses development process, and the quality assurance procedures delivered by Dr.
Wasel Ghanem and Mr. Karl Royle, respectively.
The
team of NEO has also conducted interviews with faculty members from the
university of Jordan and partner universities; and also with the students who
are engaged in METHODS courses during the piloting phase this fall semester.
The event was ended by a visit to the office of the
University of Jordan President, Prof. Azmi Mahfzah, to indicate the positive
feedback that was gained from the visit, and commend the efforts that were made
in implementing the project.
It's
worth mentioning that METHODS project will have a highly positive impact on
modernization the education in Jordan, through the project capacity building
programme, establishing an educational center and smart
classrooms
equipped with the finest ICT equipment, and developing at least 32 courses from
different faculties according to the modern technological and pedagogical
components.

أجرى مكتب
الأراسموس الوطني في الأردن زيارة رصد في 13 نوفمبر 2017 لمشروع "إيراسموس
+": تحديث اساليب التدريس في التعليم العالي: التجربة الأوروبية للأردن
والأراضي الفلسطينية "في كلية الهندسة- الجامعة الأردنية.
وقد حضر
هذه الزيارة أعضاء فريق مشروع ميثودز في الجامعة الأردنية، بما في ذلك أعضاء هيئة
التدريس من مختلف الكليات، والموظفين الإداريين والفنيين. بالإضافة إلى ممثلين عن
شركاء المشروع في الأردن، بما في ذلك جامعة العلوم والتكنولوجيا، والجامعة
الهاشمية، وجامعة الزيتونة.
كما حضر
الزيارة المنسق المحلي لميثودز في فلسطين ورئيس حزمة عمل التنفيذ للمشروع الدكتور واصل غانم من جامعة بيرزيت. ورئيس حزمة عمل ضمان الجودة في
المشروع، السيد كارل رويل من جامعة ولفرهامبتون في المملكة المتحدة، والمقيم
الخارجي للمشروع، الدكتورة جيل توربين من المملكة المتحدة.
وقد بدأت الزيارة
التفقدية بعرض تقديمي عن وضع المشروع وإدارته قدمها منسق المشروع العام، الأستاذ
الدكتور أحمد السلايمة، تلتها محاضرات عن عملية تطوير المساقات، وإجراءات ضمان
الجودة التي قدمها الدكتور واصل غانم والسيد كارل رويل، على التوالي.
كما أجرى
فريق مكتب ايراسموس مقابلات مع أعضاء هيئة التدريس من الجامعة الأردنية والجامعات
الشريكة في المشروع. وأيضا مع الطلاب الذين يشاركون في مساقات ميثودز خلال المرحلة
التجريبية للفصل الدراس الحاليي.
وانتهى
اليوم بزيارة مكتب رئيس الجامعة الأردنية الأستاذ الدكتور عزمي محافظة، حيث تم الحديث
عن الإيجابية في المشروع وحسن ادارته، و كذلك تمت الأشادة بالجهود التي بذلت في
تنفيذ المشروع.
وتجدر
الإشارة إلى أن مشروع "ميثودز" سيكون له أثر إيجابي للغاية على تحديث
التعليم في الأردن من خلال برنامج بناء قدرات في المشروع، وإنشاء مركز وغرف صفية ذكية
مجهزة بأرقى معدات تكنولوجيا المعلومات والاتصالات، و كذلك تطوير 32 مساق على
الأقل من مختلف الكليات وفقا إلى المبادئ التكنولوجية والتربوية الحديثة.
